Lifting · PDO Threads

An immediate lift, threads do the work.

Thread lifting places fine, absorbable PDO threads under the skin to lift sagging tissue at once — and, as the threads dissolve, to stimulate new collagen along their path. It's a minimally invasive way to get a defined, immediate lift without surgery.

Thread Lifting at ARTNER

Lift now, collagen later.

Where energy devices tighten gradually, threads give an immediate, mechanical lift: fine absorbable threads are placed under the skin and gently reposition sagging tissue on the spot. As they dissolve over months, they leave new collagen behind — so the lift is supported even after the thread is gone.

At ARTNER, thread lifting uses proven PDO threads — Mint (Petit, Fine and a double-chin Easy option) and Ollijue Volfix — chosen by how much lift you need and where. Fewer threads refine and refresh; more threads give a fuller lift of the cheeks, jawline and lower face. Dr. Pyeon maps the vectors so the lift looks natural, not pulled.

How It Works

What a session looks like.

Simple, supervised, and planned around your goal.

01

Consult & map

We assess your sagging and map the lift vectors — which threads, how many, and where.

02

Numb & prep

Local anesthetic is applied so the placement is comfortable.

03

Place the threads

Fine threads are inserted through tiny entry points and gently lift the tissue into place.

04

Settle & care

The lift is checked for symmetry; aftercare guidance follows for the first days.

How it works

Mechanical lift, then biological.

A thread lift works in two stages. First is mechanical: the barbed or twisted PDO thread grips the soft tissue and physically lifts it, so you see a change on the table. Second is biological: over the following months the thread is absorbed by your body, and the mild stimulation along its track lays down new collagen — so some of the lift and firmness remains after the thread is gone.

Because the threads go in through tiny entry points rather than incisions, it's minimally invasive: expect a few days of mild swelling or tightness rather than a surgical recovery. It suits mild-to-moderate sagging and pairs well with HIFU or RF for a longer-lasting result.

The materials

Proven threads, mapped by hand.

ARTNER uses established PDO thread systems — Mint(a widely used lifting thread, in Petit, Fine and a double-chin Easy format) and Ollijue Volfix for a more volumizing lift. PDO is the same absorbable material used in surgical sutures for decades, so it has a long safety record.

The threads are only as good as the vectors they're placed along. Dr. Pyeon maps the lift to your anatomy so the result looks naturally lifted, not tight or pulled — and screens you first, as with every ARTNER treatment.

Honest Candidacy

Who it suits — and who we discuss further.

A good fit if you…

  • Have mild-to-moderate sagging of the cheeks, jawline or lower face
  • Want an immediate, visible lift without surgery
  • Are willing to accept a few days of mild swelling
  • Want to pair a lift with collagen stimulation

We'll talk it through if you…

  • Have very heavy, advanced sagging that may need a surgical lift
  • Have very thin skin or an active infection in the area
  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding (please wait)
  • Expect a permanent result — threads last around 12–18 months

What recovery looks like

  • Minimally invasive — tiny entry points, no large incision
  • A few days of mild swelling, tightness or bruising
  • Avoid wide mouth-opening and facial massage briefly
  • Sleep face-up for the first nights to protect the lift

Good to know

  • The lift is immediate; collagen support builds over months
  • Threads absorb over 6–8 months; the effect lasts ~12–18 months
  • Often combined with HIFU/RF for a longer result
  • We plan the plan around your travel
The ARTNER system

The result is half treatment, half aftercare.

A good outcome isn't only the session — it's how thread lifting is planned and supported around it. ARTNER runs a 2:1 intensive care system: dedicated attention, not a treatment and a goodbye at the door.

Aftercare uses medical devices, not just advice. ARTNER runs Accent Prime by ALMA (Israel) and matching protocols, and Dr. Pyeon is a clinical advisor to Accent Prime in Korea — so your plan is guided by someone who helps train other clinics on the technology.

What to expect

Results, step by step.

thread lifting is non-surgical, so downtime is minimal — here is how the effect builds.

  • Each session
A comfortable, non-surgical session — most people return straight to their day.
  • First days
Any mild redness or warmth settles quickly; makeup is usually fine soon after.
  • Weeks 2–8
Collagen remodelling builds gradually — the lifting and tightening effect deepens over weeks.
  • Ongoing
Results build across a course and are maintained with periodic sessions.

Honest disclosure

Risks, and how we lower them.

Every medical treatment carries some risk. For thread lifting, expect temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling or small bruising; less commonly, uneven results or sensitivity. Results build gradually and are not permanent — a course and periodic maintenance keep them.

ARTNER lowers risk deliberately: an internal-medicine specialist screens you first, settings are matched to your skin and goals, and we'll honestly say when a treatment won't give the result you want — or when a different one fits better.

Planned by the director

A lift should look lifted, not pulled.

Threads are about vectors, not volume of product. Placed along the wrong lines they look tight; placed right they just look like a well-rested version of you. That mapping is where the skill is.

Thread Lifting FAQ

Good to know.

Fine absorbable PDO threads are placed under the skin to lift sagging tissue immediately, and they stimulate new collagen as they dissolve over months. ARTNER uses Mint and Ollijue threads, mapped to your face for a natural lift.

It's minimally invasive, not surgery — threads go in through tiny entry points under local anesthetic, with no large incision. Expect a few days of mild swelling, tightness or bruising rather than a surgical recovery.

The lift is immediate and typically lasts around 12–18 months. The threads themselves absorb over 6–8 months, leaving new collagen behind, so some firmness remains even after that.

Threads give an immediate mechanical lift; HIFU gives deeper energy-based lift; RF tightens broadly. Mild-to-moderate sagging with a wish for instant change suits threads; they're often combined with HIFU or RF for a longer result. We recommend honestly at consultation.

Local anaesthetic makes placement comfortable; you'll feel pressure and tugging rather than sharp pain. Mild soreness for a few days afterwards is normal.
